Thompson & Knight Global Energy Services Conducts Second Annual International E&P Management Program

Houston, Texas - Thompson & Knight Global Energy Services, LLC (TKGES), the Houston-based subsidiary of the international law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP, will be offering its business management program for energy exploration and production professionals in the Spring of 2009. The international program is designed by TKGES' President and CEO, Renato Bertani, and will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston, Texas, from March 30 - April 3, 2009.

The focus of the program this year will be sustainable development. "As professionals, we must find, develop, and produce increasing volumes of oil and gas to ensure sustainable development of the world's growing economy," says Bertani. Last year's participants included executives from Anadarko, BHP Billiton, ConocoPhillips, BG, Occidental, Petrobras, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sumitumo Corp., Schlumberger, and TOTAL S.A. More than 40 individuals from 11 nations were represented by the 2008 program attendees.

"This program is very interactive. It includes simulation exercises where participants are exposed to real-life situations, competing to build valuable E&P portfolios in an environment of risk, uncertainty, and limited availability of capital," says Bertani. Program topics will also cover short- and long-term trends, corporate governance, biofuels, and accounting principles as well as building and managing exploration and production portfolios, and risk taking and decision making in the energy industry.

"While technological advances and the new energy market make it possible to successfully and profitably explore for oil and gas in ever more difficult and remote provinces, organizations must also meet the requirements of all stakeholders involved including shareholders, employees, communities, local governments, agencies, and regulatory bodies," says Bertani.

"In this increasingly complex game, the winners will be the organizations with superior management who embrace a global vision and multidisciplinary approach to planning and execution."

The four-day program has limited seating due to the nature of the course. For more information or to download a printable version of the program brochure, please visit http://www.tkges.com/events.cfm.
